July 2014 Meeting

The Greater Wheeling Chapter of the Association of Information Technology Professionals (AITP) will hold its Wednesday, July 9, 2014 meeting at the White Palace in Wheeling Park, Wheeling WV.  The White Palace is located inside Wheeling Park at 1801 National Rd, Wheeling, WV 26003 (map via bing).

Technology in the Shale Oil and Gas Industry

The Shale Oil & Gas industry is a fast paced business. Technology is developing rapidly to support the industry and its growth. New technology is constantly being developed for all aspects of oil & gas exploration and production. Some examples of technologies applied in the field are: seismic monitoring, monitoring of gas well drilling, horizontal drilling, fracking pressure monitoring, pipeline flow monitoring, GIS well databases, aerial mapping software, drone imagery, and iPad reporting solutions. Hull & Associates, Inc. is involved in many of these areas and uses developed technologies to more effectively service clients.

Our speakers for the evening will be AJ Smith and Sara Goots.

AJ Smith, PE is a Senior Project Manager with Hull & Associates, Inc. AJ has over 12 years of engineering experience. He manages the newest Hull office in St. Clairsville, Ohio and manages projects for the Shale Oil & Gas industry. AJ received his bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Ohio Northern University and master’s degree in Civil Engineering from the Ohio State University.

Sara Goots is an engineer with Hull & Associates, Inc. in the St. Clairsville, Ohio office. Sara received her bachelor’s degree in Environmental Systems Engineering from Penn State University. Sara is heavily involved in performing compliance inspections at Shale Oil & Gas facilities.

Event Schedule

We will meet at the White Palace.  Social time and registration will be from 5:30 – 6:00 p.m.  The dinner will begin at approximately 6:00 p.m. and the Presentation will start after the meal.
