Jim Whitecotton – Manager Implementation Services
Jim leads Omni’s implementation group which delivers managed IT services and infrastructure technology projects. He has an extensive background in technology management and operations, software development projects, client relationship management systems, information productivity applications, and technology training. Jim also assists clients with technology planning, business analysis, and project management support across their application portfolios and serves various industries, including financial services, real estate, professional services, and other for-profit sectors.
He has previously held project management positions with a national IT services company, project manager and IT strategist posts for regional and national real estate information companies, and served in a senior leadership position for a regional title insurance company.
Jim will be introducing Omni Strategic Technologies which is a combination three West Virginia based technology firms that includesHGO Technology, ContactPointe IT Services, and Terradon Communications Group. Jim will also talk origins of the companies as well as the services the new combined firm offers to clients.
Eduardo (Ed) Korsgaard – Senior Network Engineer and Trainer
Ed began his career at Omni as a technical trainer focusing on Windows Server technologies and diversifying to train many other technologies including CompTIA, CIW, Sophos, Crystal Reports, and numerous others. After several years of training clients he began implementing technology for those same clients. Since then, he has specialized in various security and hardware technologies to provide more secure and reliable networks for our local and national clients. Eduardo maintains his technical skills to keep up with the ever changing technologies in the IT marketplace as well as continuing to train clients and implement new solutions that keep them on the leading edge in today’s business environment.
Eduardo earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Information Systems from the University of Charleston. He is also a Microsoft Certified Trainer, a Microsoft Certified System Engineer, and a Sophos Certified Architect.
Ed will be speaking about next generation firewalls including the benefits and additional features they bring clients over traditional firewalls. During the presentation Ed will also be speaking about Sophos Unified Threat Management devices (UTM) which Omni’s primary next generation firewall of choice for all their managed service clients in the SMB space.
We will meet at the White Palace. Social time and registration will be from 5:30 – 6:00 p.m. The dinner will begin at approximately 6:00 p.m. and the Presentation will start after the meal. Cost for the evening is $18.00 for AITP members, $12.00 for AITP student members, and $23.00 for non-member guests. We will have our 50/50 drawing and door prizes for those in attendance.
