Wednesday November 10th

The Greater Wheeling Chapter of the Association of Information Technology Professionals (AITP) will hold its Wednesday, November 10, 2010 meeting at the White Palace at Wheeling Park, Wheeling WV. The White Palace is located inside Wheeling Park at 1801 National Rd, Wheeling, WV 26003 (map via bing).

Speaker and Topic


Tim Heeter is a resident of Pittsburgh and is the owner of Compass Network Services and branched out into network video with Enterprise Video Systems. His companies now install and service Ethernet networks and networked video systems.

Tim’s presentation for the evening will cover the upcoming IPv6 conversion.

  1. Go over IP Version 4 addressing
  2. Touch on “dotted Decimal”, Hexadecimal, and Binary numbering
  3. Go over IP Version 6 numbering and notation scheme
  4. Cover some special cases, like broadcast and multicast addressing
  5. Touch on Router configuration.

Education Session

Individual Performance Awards – An Explination & an Update – Keeping you current

Marilyn Perhacs will be bringing IPA forms for everyone to help keep you current on points. Marilyn will cover it line by line explaining where and how each might apply you and help you achieve your IPA awards.

Event Schedule

We will meet on the first floor of the White Palace. Social time and registration will be from 5:30 – 6:00 p.m. The buffet style dinner will begin at approximately 6:00 p.m. and the presentation will start after the meal. Cost for the evening is $18.00 for AITP members, $10.00 for AITP student members, and $23.00 for guests.

We will have our 50/50 drawing and door prizes for those in attendance See below..
