The Greater Wheeling Chapter of the Association of Information Technology Professionals (AITP) will hold its Wednesday, January 13th, 2016 meeting at the White Palace in Wheeling Park, Wheeling, WV. The cost for the evening will be $18 for members and $23 for visitors.
The speaker for the evening will be David Stoffel.
David Stoffel is a CIT (Computer Information Technology) Assistant Professor and Program Director at West Virginia Northern Community College. He loves to teach those who want to learn. The classes he teach include but are not limited to: Windows O/S, Microsoft Applications, Database Design and SQL, Advanced Database Programming, IT Analysis & Design and CIT Practicum and Internship.
The topic for the evening will be Community Education from both a corporate and higher ed perspective. David will start with a brief bio about his 25+ year career as an IT professional and then discuss how this has shaped his career as a college professor. Topics will include the importance of skills training, continuing education, degree enhancement, being involved with local schools K-12 and higher ed., and how it is important in keeping our skills sharp can improve our careers and the businesses we work for.
