Website Developer – Posted September 26, 2011
The Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston is seeking a Website Developer for the Computer Information Systems Department located in the Wheeling Campus of the Diocese. The position will involve the maintenance and/or the creation of websites for the Diocese, Catholic Schools, Parishes, Ministries, and other Diocesan related entities. The Website Developer will be responsible for assisting the Senior Internet Technologies Engineer with; website design and implementation; copy editing; security updates; content updates; image editing; end user training; and various other website design and update tasks. The position will also involve communication with multiple website contacts throughout the state of West Virginia. Occasional travel may be required.
The ideal candidate should be organized, have good communication and writing skills, and be familiar with basic to advanced website design including; HTML, CSS, and website image file formats. Familiarity with Joomla, PHP, mySQL, Open Source Content Management Systems, JavaScript, and multiple browsers is not required but will be helpful.
