The Greater Wheeling Chapter of the Association of Information Technology Professionals (AITP) will hold its Wednesday, February 11, 2015 meeting at theWhite Palace in Wheeling Park, Wheeling WV. Meeting Topic & Speaker
Jason Koegler will be our speaker for the evening.
Jason Koegler grew up “in” Oglebay Park, (his father Bill Koegler was the Administrator at Oglebay for 40 years). Jason is a 1993 graduate of Wheeling Park High School and graduated from James Madison University in 1997.
Jason lived in the Bay Area, CA for 7 years with his wife Sarah, (who is from Long Island). They moved back to Wheeling in 2007. They have 2 sons, Campbell (9), William, (7)
Jason is currently Vice President of Institutional Advancement at West Liberty University. He oversees fundraising, marketing – including website, channel 14 and public relations. Under Jason’s leadership – increased fundraising from $700,000 in 2008, to $5.2 million in 2014
Along with Steve Burke, a long time friend from high school, Jason is co-owner of Weelunk LLC which was founded in August 2014.
Weelunk.com is a Wheeling-centric website aiming to attract sophisticated, local readers who care about the community. (Launched Nov. 1, 2014.)
Since October 31st, 2014 Weelunk has had over 250,000 pageviews with readers from all 50 states and 90+ countries.
Weelunk’s mission: Through positive and creative messaging…to support the revitalization of Wheeling, WV. Weelunk aims to be a platform for ideas, events and inspiration – hoping to reverse the current negative stereotypes of Wheeling and West Virginia…often perpetuated by the current traditional media outlets.
Weelunk wants to help Wheeling natives who live in Wheeling, or around the country and the world – -that it is OK to be proud of your hometown.
We will meet at the White Palace. Social time and registration will be from 5:30 – 6:00 p.m. The dinner will begin at approximately 6:00 p.m. and the Presentations will follow the meal. Cost for the evening is $18.00 for AITP members, $12.00 for AITP student members, and $23.00 for non-member guests. We will have our 50/50 drawing and door prizes for those in attendance.
