April 2014 Meeting

The Greater Wheeling Chapter of the Association of Information Technology Professionals (AITP) will hold its Wednesday, April 9, 2014 meeting at the White Palace in Wheeling Park, Wheeling WV.  The White Palace is located inside Wheeling Park at 1801 National Rd, Wheeling, WV 26003 (map via bing).

Meeting Topic & Speaker

Joe Krehlik_webOur speaker for the evening will be Joe Krehlik III, owner of Forever a Masterpiece Photography Studio. He is a Certified Professional Photographer located in St. Clairsville, Ohio. He has won awards in Ohio, the tri-state area and nationally.

Joe will give a slideshow of his work, discuss the importance of graphics (in general) and how it is changing communications. He will share general tips to keep in mind when designing (anything, web, print, etc.), how to take better snapshots, some basic Photoshop editing techniques and taking an image from SOOC (straight out of camera) to something that is a work of art

Joe was the president of the Greater Wheeling Chapter in 1997.

Joe is a very hands-on kind of guy, and while he prefers to be in control of most situations, he readily accepts others as team players and partners. He utilizes the right-side of his brain way more than the left-side which often times gets him trouble. Creativity and great design and his
keen eye for details are challenged at times by his quick-wit and sense of humor. His eye for detail enables him to pick-up new things relatively quickly, which is a good thing because he does not enjoy reading books or studying and believes that instruction manuals are “for reference only!” Joe enjoys speaking to the masses and sharing with others what he has learned about photography and graphic design over the years. Introduced to film photography and developing by his father at an early age, he was always interested in the graphic arts industry. Joe started a professional design and printing company in 1994 and quickly grew the operation to producing well over an average of 1 million impressions per year and at one point had 6 employees. Joe then added to that business model by offering complete advertising and media solutions for clients. After dealing with boring things like budgets, accounting, human resources, and media organizations, he realized that he had to once again pursue his passion for
creativity. Photography provided the opportunity. Since then, Joe has had the privilege to photograph hundreds of diverse clients and some famous celebrities & musicians and has even taken part in some major television production along the way. In 2009 Joe became a Certified Professional Photographer and is currently working towards becoming a Master Photographer. When Joe is not pursuing his creative passion, he enjoys woodworking and loves to be out on the open-road riding his Harley.
